Privacy Policy for LifeGuard

Effective Date: September 19, 2026

LifeGuard (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the LifeGuard mobile application.

LifeGuard is designed as an offline-first personal organization app that helps users manage warranties, expiry dates, bills/receipts, and recurring “last done” activities.

By using LifeGuard, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information You Enter

LifeGuard allows you to voluntarily enter information such as:

  • Product names
  • Warranty information
  • Purchase dates
  • Warranty expiry dates
  • Expiry dates
  • Categories
  • Notes
  • Last completed dates
  • Next due dates
  • Reminder preferences
  • Other information you choose to enter into the App

This information is used only to provide the features of LifeGuard.

2. Photos and Receipt Images

LifeGuard may allow you to select or attach images such as:

  • Bills
  • Receipts
  • Product images
  • Expiry-item images

These images are used to provide the corresponding App functionality.

LifeGuard is designed to keep this information locally on your device where supported by the application's storage system.

We do not intentionally upload your receipt or personal images to our own servers.

You should avoid storing highly sensitive documents or information in the App unless necessary.

3. Local Data Storage

LifeGuard is designed to work primarily without requiring an online account or cloud server.

Your app records may be stored locally on your device, including:

  • Warranty records
  • Expiry records
  • Last Done records
  • Notes
  • App preferences
  • Reminder settings
  • Locally stored images

If you uninstall the App or clear its application data, locally stored information may be deleted.

4. Backup and Restore

LifeGuard may provide backup and restore functionality.

When you create a backup, the App may generate a backup file containing your LifeGuard data.

The backup file is controlled by you.

If you share, upload, email, or otherwise transfer a backup file to another service or person, that information will be subject to the privacy policy and security practices of that service or person.

LifeGuard does not automatically upload your backup to our own server unless such functionality is explicitly introduced in a future version.

5. Notifications

LifeGuard may request permission to send notifications.

Notifications may be used for:

  • Warranty expiry reminders
  • Expiry reminders
  • Last Done reminders
  • Upcoming due dates
  • Other reminders configured by you

You can control notification permissions through your device settings where supported.

6. Advertising

LifeGuard is a free, ad-supported application.

The App may display:

  • Banner advertisements
  • Interstitial advertisements
  • Rewarded advertisements

We use Google AdMob to provide advertising services.

Google and its advertising partners may collect or process certain information from your device in connection with advertising, such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, diagnostic information, and information related to ad interaction, subject to applicable settings, consent requirements, and Google's policies.

Advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized depending on applicable settings, user choices, regional requirements, and Google's advertising systems.

LifeGuard does not sell your personal information to advertisers.

For information about how Google handles information in connection with its advertising services, please review Google's applicable privacy documentation.

7. Rewarded Advertisements

LifeGuard may offer optional rewarded advertisements.

A rewarded advertisement may provide an optional in-app benefit after the advertisement has been successfully completed.

Rewarded advertisements are not required for the basic functionality of LifeGuard.

Users should never be required to click an advertisement in order to use the core features of the App.

8. Third-Party Services

LifeGuard may use third-party services such as Google AdMob for advertising.

These third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

The primary third-party advertising service currently used by the App is:

Google AdMob

Google's services may use technologies such as advertising identifiers, cookies, SDKs, or similar technologies depending on the platform and configuration.

9. No User Account Required

LifeGuard does not require users to create an account or provide:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password

for normal use of the core application.

If future versions introduce account-based or cloud features, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to design LifeGuard to protect locally stored information.

However, no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any backup files created using the App.

We recommend using appropriate device security such as a screen lock, PIN, password, or biometric protection.

11. Children's Privacy

LifeGuard is not specifically directed toward children under the age required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for our own purposes.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that appropriate action can be considered.

Advertising and third-party services may have their own age-related requirements and policies.

12. Data Deletion

Because LifeGuard is designed to store most app data locally, you can generally remove your locally stored data by:

  • Deleting individual records inside the App
  • Clearing the App's data through device settings
  • Uninstalling the App

Any information that may be processed independently by third-party services, such as advertising providers, is subject to the respective provider's policies and available controls.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When changes are made, the updated version will be published with a revised “Effective Date”.

We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.

14. Your Choices

Depending on your device and location, you may be able to control:

  • Advertising personalization
  • Notification permissions
  • App permissions
  • Device-level privacy settings
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Other privacy controls provided by your operating system or applicable services

You can also choose not to provide optional information to LifeGuard, although certain features may then be unavailable.
